New Purpose for the Blog and Stroke and Stride #1

Looks like the new purpose for this blog is to be a place to list race results and document the bigger training days. Did the first Stroke and Stride last night at the res. Beautiful night. Water was 65 and air was low 70s. Used the race as a training day. The goal for the swim was to swim easy and straight. Let myself dog it in transition. And I did, over 2 minutes :) On the run I want to negative split, keep things comfortably brisk the first mile and then ramp it up after that. All in all, I'm happy, really happy with the way the run went. I was working for sure, but never felt over strained, kept my form together. and I broke 20 minutes. The last mile was a 6:14. That's pretty quick for me.

On the swim I walked the beach, that took a minute. And then on the second lap, I sort of lost my cool with the traffic. I got Jackie Chan'ed kicked in the side at the last turn and it really upset me. So the next open water swim, the goal will be to stay calm and cool and collected and just swim...no angry thoughts.
