Saturday 2/3 12.5 miles 1:47

Chilly day, spent the morning and early afternoon working on the house. didn't get out until 2:30 or so. The longer I wait to start my workout, the harder it is to get it in. I nearly skipped this workout today and moved it to Sunday. But, Miles of Trials and Trials of Miles. So out the door I went. It was definitely colder than I thought it would be and I think that may have keep my HR a bit low. The main set was 7.5 miles in z3 (about marathon pace) Averaged 7:34/ mile with an avg hr of 169. All in all it felt okay. No real struggles. Just trued to keep good posture and keep the stride short and quick. As I fatigue, it's easy for me to fall into a longer slower stride. Muscling my way along. That works fine for a little, then the calves, soleus, and the rest start to give up the ghost....then the dreaded shuffle. I'm trying to be diligent about the TLC (tall, lean, cadance) because I know what trying to run after five and a half or six hours on the bike feels like. Whatever strength you have in your legs at the start of the ride is gone by the end. You are left with your form and will power.
