Got on the bike, 1 hr, with 2x12 in zone 5. The rest was all over the place. I took some video to use to help me with bike position. And I adjusted the saddle angle a little. (not the most exciting blog entry, I know)
Then off the bike for 4 miles, first 2 in zone 2, home in zone 3. I was sore from Saturday at the track. Holy Cow! Ouch, hamies and glutes are still tender. Was under 8s on the way home, that was nice to see.
The best part is I feel like the cold is truly gone now. My energy is back and my motivation is good.
I was following a 16 week "Out of Season" plan. I've missed three weeks of it due to this cold. the year goes, 16 weeks out of season (get fast), 10 weeks Basic (start swimming, add some volume), 10 weeks Ironman specific. I figure since I want to go faster this year, I'll repeat the missed 3 weeks of the "get fast" stuff, and shorten the Basic phase.
Ultimately ,I doubt it matters much. Just do the work, stay positive, and push my limits.
