6.7 miles, 55 min. Short warmup then 4 x 1 mile at about 10k pace. I ran on Walnut Creek trail, it’s 1 mile from end to end as it goes through the Westmoor office park. There’s a hill in the middle and it’s slightly uphill heading west. It was the perfect place for this workout. I got 4 minutes rest between each interval, hit 7:11, 6:36, 7:11, 6:29. I felt like I was straining, just running comfortably uncomfortable. On the last one, I had the hill working with me and a little bit of a tailwind. I really focused on my posture and leg turn over. It was fun, I felt like a runner.
I think it’s time to start stretching this run out a little. Close to 10 miles total. Wednesday will eventually become long run day as the spring and summer get here. So I might was well start building that up now.
