34 min, 4 miles from Lakeshore in the afternoon. Then a short lift, core and back. And then yoga for an hour. We did a bunch of balance poses. Those things set my lower legs on fire. I spoke to the instructor about it and she looked at my flat feet and said that was probably the issue. Without much arch to speak of, I have to use muscle tension to keep my foot in the proper shape rather than just the natural tension of tendons. the solution is either to spend a LOT more time barefoot to strengthen up my feet, or to just HTFU and deal. There's always a choice right :)
The run went well. I was all over the place again pace wise. I went hard on a few hills, cruised a lot and even walked a little. I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but it feels alright to be running like this for now. I do want to get in a longer run this week at a mostly aerobic level, just to spend more time on my feet.
My first crack at a 5k will be at the Eerie Erie on the 25th. I wonder if it will be freezing like last year?
