Taking Your Time

"More athletic moves go bad because they're launched too early then because they're too late. As a canny old pro once told me, you have to have the confidence to take the time. The complexity of this athletic truth grows on me daily."
- John Jerome , The Elements of Effort

Came upon this quote last night...it struck me as appropriate for the task I'm facing Saturday. I know I can cover the distance. So the real task is to cover the distance with confidence. To be patient for the first 80% or so. To trust that I've done the work to not only keep it together those last 4 miles, but to really go after them.
