Friday - 1/31:Rest day for Run; Swim = 1300m

No run today, rest day. Swam at lunch with EC at Louisville rec. 1300 meters of drills. Stuck with 50s with different focus points for each set of 4. Good stuff. There is still some good form left in me. It shouldn't take too much work to get back to where I was, just patience. Then of course, once the good form is re-instilled, it will be time to let the caveman loose. (see Summer of the Caveman to be explained in the near future)

Quote for the day

I've been reluctant to start a blog for some time now. I'm still unsure about the whole. I am no where near the folks I know that blog. Not near them in ability or discipline. When I mentioned this GZ, he replied:
"First – screw what anyone else is doing. There is always someone stronger, bigger, faster, smarter. What you are out to do is be stronger, bigger, faster, smarter than YOU are today. You do it today so that you are more tomorrow."

Speed, endurance, "fast", "slow", they are all relative terms. Putting in 30 miles in a week for one person might be just a big of an accomplishment as 100/wk is for another. I will keep this blog to throw out my thoughts to the universe (forgive the oovy-groovy talk (I'm in Boulder after all)) Seeing things in writing will help keep me objective.
