Tuesday - Bike commute, 8 mi run in the evening

This was the the best run I've had in a long time. It was one of those runs that helps you believe that your goals aren't out of reach. 8 miles in 65 min. 8:09 a mile. Not super numbers I know, but remember this is all relative. What made this such a great run was that my avg hr was 159. That's the middle of zone 2. Smack dab in the middle of aerobic. I started the run easy and after about 3 miles had settled nicely around 162bpm.

I'm excited to see where this can go. Sub 4 hours for the ironman run doesn't seem as much of a reach now. Now, I know, 8 miles isn't a marathon, and a 30 min commute on the bike isn't 112miles.....but it's the fact that this pace was aerobic that has me fired up.

For fuel, lunch around 2. leftover lasagna. Then two scoops of perpetuem (~250 cal). I finished most of the bottle during the run. I took this over water because I want to practice taking in calories as I run.
