Friday - 4/4 - 3x30 min rides ; 6.5 mi run

Commuting day. 30 min to the Louisville office at 7:30am. At 12:30, 35 min to the new Westminster Office. This little jaunt included the wall on McCaslin. Not only had I forgotten just how steep that bugger was, I was carrying a backpack with my laptop in it! I was laughing at just how slow I was going at the top :) . Then after some cake and a checking out the new digs, 305 minutes home. The ride from home to the office is hilly! After getting home I had maybe a 5 minute transition and then went out for 6.5 miles. Tried to stay in z2. Occassionally drifted into low z3 when the wind was at my back. My legs were tired, but moved ok. Averaged around 8:45s, with the early miles the slowest.

Question: Do these 30-35 min commuting rides count toward "training". I'm sure they are good for me. Hills and frequency build strength. But, what about aerobically? Mon -Fri, I did one 1hr spinerval session, and 3.5 hrs of commuting. That's 4.5 hrs ont he bike during the work week. Not bad. On Friday I could definitely tell that the commuting had made my legs tired. So...the questions remains, do I log these rides? Input anyone...(does anyone read this besides George? :) )

Well I am reading.

CAKE? WTF?

I guess when do those rides not count? Is the minimum an hour for it to count? WHY?

Yeah, you need the longer rides to get a better benefit, but these rides count for something. Even if it is burning off cake.
