A Shift. Growth. Improvement.
I had written a funny little paragraph talking about making a journey. Meeting companions in a tavern and traveling off on a quest. And then another with an Escape from the Planet of the Apes theme. But all of that is a little silly. What my year is really about, is seeing what I am capable of if I truly try. This year is about removing obstacles. To use a Joe Friel term, limiters. Time, body composition, riding in the wind, climbing, AeT endurance, gear, what ever holds you back from being the best athlete you can be. For me, I am my biggest limiter. My head gets in the way. "I can't do that", "I can't get go that fast". I guess that's what this blog will really be about, not the workouts I do or my race results, or my crazy thoughts about life, it will be about me breaking through my self imposed limits to become the best athlete (and best person) I can be.

Philip - welcome to the blogosphere. I have found that when I have to publically post what I am doing, thinking (well, I don't have to, but I have imposed that "limiter") it forces me to "verbalize" those limits. And then when you hear them, you begin to realize how silly some of them sound. And you also realize how real some of them are. Until you go to the edge, you don't know how far you can fall.
